Homemade Deodorant

I really like the cream version, which i posted on this blog, but I wanted something that was easier to apply like a stick you buy at the store. This recipe is a combination between my cream and liquid versions.

Ingredients:
    Homemade Deodorant
  • 6 Tbsp Butter of choice. I've use these Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter
  • 3 tsp herbal infusion (HI) or oils such olive oil. My favorite apricot oil.
  • 3 Tbsp baking soda
  • 2 Tbsp corn starch
  • 1 tsp zinc oxide (optional)
  • 1 Tbsp Witch Hazel
  • 15 to 30 drops of essential oils
If you are using a used deodorant container clean it thoroughly and place saran wrap on the inside to prevent leakage when you pour your deodorant into the container. You can also buy containers online.

Once all ingredients are mix thoroughly pour into containers and refrigerate over night.
I've read other blogs where others have had a reaction to their deodorants. If you keep track of what goes into your batch you can start making judgements what components are causing the reaction and eliminate from next batch. I've had a reaction to one batch of deodorants only to realize by accident that I added herbal infusion made of citronella and bees wax. I broke out with a rash and the bees wax also scratch me. So I dump it and made another version without either components.
